Dallas Mavericks superstar Kyrie Irving in a social media post, dismissed the opinions of the ESPN analysts. It came after he did not make the list of the 30 players in the ESPN NBA player rankings for the 2023-24 season.
The post came to the surface after ESPN released its rankings recently. They ranked Kyrie in the 34th position out of the top 50. This definitely infuriated the superstar who is known as the “King of Handles.” Irving also has an NBA championship in his bag from the 2016 NBA season. Irving believed in himself and thought he belonged to the top 30.
In an Instagram post, Kyrie Irving posted his views regarding the NBA rankings via ESPN. He wrote, “Who. TF. cares. I never will, rankings don’t mean a damn thing in the league, especially not from ESPN or any of these other media platforms. Majority of the analysts are not credible sources in my eyes and I don’t respect them or their opinions.”
Players such as Paul George (18), Trae Young(29), Lauri Markannen(28), and Paolo Banchero(30) were ahead of Irving. This isn’t the first time the Mavs superstar has shown his disapproval with the rankings released for the season. Last season, the analysts placed Irving in the 33rd position in the top 50 players in the league.
