“I am the real MVP” Kyrie Irving fully determined to win a title with the Nets claims NBA Insider

Kyrie Irving

Kyrie Irving has been on the Nets for three seasons and while still a massive presence on the field he has not been the threat that he once was and has not played that much either, out of three seasons only playing 30 games one season. And while he averages 27.1 points with the Nets, the fact that he has missed multiple games citing non-injury reasons has been an issue.

But all this seems to be heading to a change as NBA Insider Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson claims that Uncle Drew has been on the court non-stop and is determined to have an MVP calibre season. “Nets PG Kyrie Irving has been in the gym, focusing on weight training and core fitness this off-season. Irving’s focused on having an MVP-caliber season literally. “He’s more than just a dribbling sensation,” Robinson wrote.

With the Kevin Durant trade saga now over, the focus seems to have shifter over to his Nets contemporary Kyrie Irving. The Insider also claimed that the former champion wanted to remain on the Nets which was always a destination that attracted Kyrie. Earlier in the off-season, Kyrie opted for his player option though numerous claims of him potentially reuniting with LeBron James. Robinson claimed that the only hold-up on the contract extension is because of the franchise and not him.

Robinson said, “He wanted to play there all along, and that’s where he’ll stay. And it was intimated to me that Irving has a desire to finish what he started. And one of the reasons why is his dedication to fitness. Those close to the point guard have shared with me that he has been in the gym nonstop,”

While it is unsure how well Kyrie will perform the coming season and if his unavailability will be a persisting issue, but if what the Insider claims are true, we could be seeing a return of the Kyrie Irving that was a force during the Cavs run to a championship or maybe even something better.
