“In my past life, I was you” Kyrie Irving makes an outrageous claim in an IG Live session with Kevin Durant

Brooklyn Nets have 2 of the most vocal stars in the modern-day game-Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant. Undoubtedly Irving and Durant are supremely talented but are outspoken perhaps in every matter. Both the spoken off players were on IG live session, where the star guard made a really bold claim about himself and his new teammate. The two Brooklyn Nets stars were having some fun during a recent Instagram Live session, leaving plenty of interesting remarks and opinions. KD was nursing his injury and Kyrie was also having some free time before playing games for the Nets.

While interacting with fans and Kevin Durant, Irving revealed something to his teammate that is just curious. He felt completely free with Durant and let something out that will probably confuse many for days. Kyrie said, “In my past life, as I said, I was you. What you are now, that’s what I am up here [in his mind], same mentality,” Irving said on a live video. “I’m getting to a spot, I’m raising up, I’m getting to the bucket. My footwork is impeccable, I have length, I’m able to shoot over the top. Hold the follow through, and I don’t see people.”

Kyrie and KD are the best of pals and hence took their friendship to another level playing in the same team. But the collaboration didn’t prove profitable, and the Nets’ hopes of winning the title with their super team remained unfulfilled.

Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant look to go in different directions after a failed experiment with the Nets

The former rookie of the season, Kyrie Irving has always spoken his mind and he won’t change that anytime soon. He did it when he won the 2016 NBA championship, then with the Celtics, and with the Nets regarding vaccination. His Nets tenure dented his illustrious career, as he is now seen as a liability to his franchise, despite having the huge talent to offer.

Kyrie Irving in particular was also blamed for a so-called toxic environment in the Nets locker room, resulting in the departure of James Harden and many other support casts. Kevon Durant also seems to have had enough with the antics as the 4-time scoring champion requested a trade away from the nets back on 30th June.

Having one of the best back-court and front-court duos in the league, the Nets were destined for their 1st ever NBA title. However, 2-time Champion Durant has requested a trade out of Brooklyn, and the team may soon fall apart. And front office is not very much pleased with the attitude Kyrie, putting him in the market.

As of now, there has been very little action around their trades, but the Nets are getting ready for life without their mega stars but may be from the 2024 season.
