“I’m used to this since 7th grade when I was called a weirdo and sat in the cafeteria by myself” Kyrie Irving makes brutal admission on NBA 75 Team snub
Kyrie Irving in action against the Boston Celtics
Kyrie Irving is considered as the player with the best handles in league. He is argued as the best in the history of basketball when it comes to handles, alongside Allen Iverson. Kyrie became a superstar of the league for his quickness, agility, handles and shot making. But it came as a real shocker when Kyrie did not find himself on the NBA 75th Anniversary team.
The 2021-22 season marked the 75th year of existence of the league. Adam Silva, NBA commissioner, ensured that the occasion was one to remember by introducing the diamond logo to mark the occasion. Another highlight of the celebration was the 75th Anniversary team. A team that constituted of the biggest names of the league, over the decades. Kyrie Irving compares the 75th Anniversary snub with his childhood memories
Many believe that, the former champion deserves a place in the 75th Anniversary team as he checks most of the boxes and has put the league in awe of his one-of-a-kind skill set. But sadly for Kyrie and his fans he did not make it on the board. While many argue and debate over his absence in the list, the former Rookie-of-the-Year is not concerned about it.
We may not know the exact reason behind the Nets superstar’s absence from the list due to the subjective nature accumulating the results. Several believe that Kyrie’s fits and unreliability is the cause for it. Despite the incredible skill set that Uncle Drew possesses, he has often been seen refusing from playing to have his demands met. From his anti-vaccination controversy to his vexation with the Cavaliers, Kyrie has gained the reputation as a player who can’t be relied on.
When asked in the Boardroom podcast about his exclusion the 75th Anniversary team, the former All-Star MVP had this to say,’I’m used to this since 7th grade when I was called a weirdo and sat in the cafeteria by myself. I don’t mind it. Because along the way I’m going to find my authentic community that accepts me for my greatness.’
It is not the first time that Kyrie has had fans scratching their heads to his answers. In the past as well, he has shook the heads of people with his bizarre flat earth and supernatural theories.
