“We know that’s going to go over people’s heads” Kyrie Irving reacts to rapper Kendrick Lamar making a reference to his vaccination stance in his new song

Kyrie Irving and Kendrick Lamar
Kyrie Irving failed to lead the Brooklyn Nets past the first round of the playoffs this season. The whole scenario surrounding the team had been extremely upsetting considering the amount of the hype that was created on them making a title run once they had a full roster, but it was a complete hundred and eighty. They ended up getting swept in the first round by the Boston Celtics and the situation also garnered a lot of attention.

During the series, Kevin Durant had a lot of problems understanding the defensive scheme of the Celtics and limited his shooting efficiency to a drastic low. He recorded over a dozen turnovers in a two-game stretch. Despite the problematic situation, KD was able to work his way somehow unlike Kyrie who averaged only 21.2 points per game rather than his usual 27.4 per piece. During Games 2, 3, and 4, he shot only 16 of 43 attempts from the field.
Kyrie Irving’s decision to opt out of play due to the vaccine mandate cost the Nets a title shot

During the commencement of the season, Kyrie Irving opted out of play due to the vaccine mandate that he felt was forced upon people. His stance on the regulation once again had a major impact on the team and eventually led to the exit of James Harden during the trade deadline. The player was banned from entering the practice gym and arena until January, then the mayor of New York City lifted the mandate allowing him to take part in all home games from March.
After Brooklyn was swept from the playoffs, Durant would admit that the team was not a hundred percent focused on the games they were about to play. According to him, the initial situation with Irving had taken a toll on the team emotionally which worked out for the worse later on. Both players have expressed their willingness to continue playing together in the following season in hopes of winning the title.
Kyrie Irving reacts to Kendrick Lamar’s vaccine remarks on latest album

After 7 years, legendary rapper Kendrick Lamar released his album called Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers. After the album dropped, fans of the rapper were so excited that they caused a complete surge of online streaming platforms Spotify and Apple Music. It led both platforms to crash for a short while. The record featured a song called ‘Savior’ that consisted of a Kyrie Irving reference.
The lyrics said, “Seen a Christian say the vaccine mark of the beast. Then he caught covid and prayed to Pfizer for relief. Then I caught covid and started to question Kyrie. Will I stay organic or hurt in this bed for two weeks.” The NBA All-Star reacted by saying, “He’s goated. We know that’s definitely going to go over people’s heads, but that’s part of art. It sparks conversation. I love it. You know what I’m saying? I’m not mad, I’m not indifferent, I just grateful, how about that?”
