It was a closely contested match and the Raptors looked like the favorites to win the game, but Kyrie produced a magical moment out of thin air by netting a classic buzzer-beater. His teammate Kevin Durant scored 26 points, and Nic Claxton had 15 points, ten rebounds and a career-high six blocks. The Nets were trailing by 18 points but made it over the line at the end.

For the Raptors, VanVleet matched his season-high score with 39 points, Scottie Barnes scored 26 and Pascal Siakam added 17. The Raptors lost their fourth straight loss of the season. They must now look to assess their problem areas and work to hard to return back to winning ways.

Everyone talked about Nets star Kyrie Irving’s scintillating performance, but the franchise is playing as a unit to register consecutive wins. Nets’ Ben Simmons and T.J. Warren each contributed 10 points to the team’s tally. Toronto’s O.G. Anunoby sat out for the third straight game because of a sore left hip, while guard Gary Trent Jr. was unavailable because of a sore left quad. Malachi Flynn also made a valuable contribution and scored 13 points as the Raptors lost back-to-back home games for the first time.

Brooklyn closed in with their opponents at crucial moments, which kept them in the game. Toronto went 0 for five from 3-point range in the third quarter, which allowed the Nets to make a comeback. The superstar duo of Kyrie and Kevin was roped in to deliver similar performances and take the team to a title win. However, off-the-court scandals denied the group what it truly deserved. Kyrie’s absence due to suspension didn’t haunt the Nets much, which made many believe that the team was well off without him.

But he has always delivered when his team needed him the most, which is his way of silencing his critiques. Until now, the Nets have recorded eighteen wins and twelve losses, which is termed as an average performance. But if their star duo keeps taking responsibility to take their team over the line, then there is no stopping them. They will look to continue their winning run when they take on the Detroit Pistons next, a team that is low on confidence and desperate to pocket some wins.
