Nike has announced that they will be selling Kyrie Irving‘s signature shoe at half price, following the termination of the basketball player’s contract with the sporting giant. Fans of the Brooklyn Nets point guard are being offered a great opportunity to get their hands on a pair of his iconic kicks for a fraction of the original price.
If you’re a fan of Kyrie Irving, now’s your chance to own a piece of basketball history. Nike has announced that it is selling the Kyrie Infinity, Irving’s signature shoe, for 50% off on its website. This is an incredible opportunity for fans to pick up a piece of memorabilia from one of the greatest players of all time. Irving has been able to excel during his career wearing those shoes and showing off his handles. And, fans of the game can now get their hands on the same shoes that Irving used to achieve his success.
Nike terminated the partnership with Irving back in December following a lot of controversial remarks from the Brooklyn Nets point guard. It is a shame for fans because Kyrie’s were amongst the most popular shoes due to the quality you would get for the price point and thus no production of Kyrie’s in the future hurts. However, at the same time, fans can enjoy the existing ones for an even cheaper price. Irving sure seems to be enjoying the fact that he doesn’t have that deal anymore.
When asked why Nike decided to make the decision, CEO Phil Knight told NBC “Kyrie stepped over the line. It’s kind of that simple. He made some statements that we just can’t abide by, and that’s why we ended the relationship. And I was fine with that.”

Improvement in Kyrie’s play a major reason for Nets’ surge
Kyrie Irving earlier in the year was not playing like the Kyrie Irving we have seen over the years. Bake in the controversy surrounding the vaccine and the anti-semitism, and Irving was a net negative for Brooklyn at the start of the season. As the season has gone on though, Irving has become the driving force behind the Nets’ resurgence. Alongside Kevin Durant, the partnership is finally blossoming into what we all thought it would be when they first came together.
Earlier this season, Kyrie had commented on how his extra distractions can affect the team’s chances of winning. He said, “Basketball is a very simple art form, so if I don’t bring all my extra distractions or anything that I’m going through mentally into the game. Then I feel like we have a great chance of winning every game. That’s something I’ve taken responsibility for on my own end. Just to positively reinforce that we can win games no matter what’s going on.”
Kyrie has also been working hard to maintain his composure during games. He stated, “Just being mentally prepared, using a lot of sessions in the summer of challenging myself to be ready for these moments. Where I don’t have to be swayed emotionally, I’m in control of my emotions, in control of my thoughts“. The Nets currently sit 2nd in the East with a 26-13 record having won 15 of their last 17 games. Kyrie so far in the season is averaging 26 points, 4.9 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 0.8 blocks and 0.8 steals.
