Kyrie Irving is a Free Agent and is in no rush to make a decision or announce his future plans. But he’s a regular name in the NBA headlines as he’s a part of many rumors. Recently, Nick Wright added another name to the already long list of teams who can or should acquire Irving this summer. The analyst believes the Los Angeles Clippers should jump in the race and get him on board.
Nick Wright on the recent episode of “First Things First,” revealed how he’d like the Los Angeles Clippers acquiring Kyrie Irving from the Dallas Mavericks. He said: “I would like to see a sign and trade with the Los Angeles Clippers for either of them. I’ll call the Clippers and say you pick, you wanna give us Paul George who you already shopped or you wanna give us a better player with a far great injury risk, Kawhi Leonard.”
Further, Nick Wright mentioned how Kyrie Irving can be the face of the Los Angeles Clippers when they’ll be opening their brand-new arena. As the chances of Paul George and Kawhi Leonard declining their player options and being gone are real. Nick Wright then went on to add how this particular sign and trade deal featuring Irving can be beneficial for both the Los Angeles Clippers and Dallas Mavericks.
Wright said: “You can have a guy who at the very least puts butts in the seats and can give you a point guard scoring punch. Meanwhile, for the Mavericks it is the exact type of player you have to pair up with Luka either one of those guys. Doesn’t need the ball in his hands, can score, and can defend. It would shake the snow globe for both the franchises that desperately need to shake it.”

Nick Wright claims Kyrie Irving is more available than Kawhi Leonard
Nick Wright wants the Los Angeles Clippers to acquire Kyrie Irving to shine in the near future. He wants the franchise to at least have a superstar locked in when they start a new journey. But he also has his set of reasons which make it a sensible and understandable trade deal. The analyst believes Kyrie is more available than Kawhi Leonard.
As he said: “Kyrie is not nearly the player Kawhi is. But even with his unreliability, he’s more available than Kawhi is. And, Paul George they were shopping him already… They need to make sure they have a star when that stadium opens. That’s now a legit concern for them.”
Nick Wright isn’t wrong with his take as Kyrie Irving isn’t the unavailable guy if the off-court drama of his is chopped. As when he’s on the hardwood he’s just locked in to ball out. So it’s fair to say that Nick Wright has given a good suggestion to both teams. But all of it comes down to Kyrie Irving as a sign-and-trade deal will only be possible if he agrees to re-sign with the Dallas Mavericks once the free agency begins.
