With rumors of Kyrie Irving circulating every other day in the NBA Trade Mill, it seems like the 2016 NBA Champ could once again play alongside his former teammate. Now with Kevin Durant too requesting a trade out of Brooklyn, it seems like even a pay-cut wouldn’t bother Irving to join a new team, especially one where his idol Kobe Bryant played all his life.
To those who are not aware, Kyire Irving to Los Angeles Lakers, is all but done. With the 2022-23 off season just beginning to unravel, it seems like the purple and gold franchise are trying everything in their hand to put together the best team alongside LeBron James. Moreover, with the likes of Philadelphia 76ers and Dallas Mavericks becoming the newest teams to join the race to sign Irving, Lakers are considered to be facing some tough competition.
Has Kyrie Irving decided to join the LA Lakers?
It seems like the 7x All-Star and former NBA Champion has clearly made up his mind about where he wants to live and play and if his club hasn’t started doing their due diligence, he has taken a step towards it, and a major one. That spoken off trade idea caught a drastic speed when he prolonged opting in for his last year of contract with the Nets which had everyone in Brooklyn on their toes. By the time he opted in he had made it pretty clear that he wants to be in Los Angeles next season, if not this one. Now he has done something much more substantial that makes his desire even clearer. Rumors are that he bought a $3.7 million mansion in LA on Saturday.
That being said, these are all just theories but if Irving wants to join the Lakers, this could also be the first step to many. Being a player who has never been afraid to put forward his views and opinions even when the world stood against him, Irving will surely be the first to break out the same news by himself.
With the 2022-23 season running as wild as any seen by the modern-day fans, where will Irving be playing in the upcoming season? Remains to be seen.
