Snoop Dogg recently backed up Russell Westbrook of the Los Angeles Lakers something not many have done this year. For those who don’t know about Snoopy, he is the most funny and famous rapper around the globe as he has been that guy since his debut in the industry. He is also a songwriter, media personality, actor, and entrepreneur. Apart from all this he is also a diehard fan of the Los Angeles Lakers and has always shown love to the franchise, its superstars, and the league through his interviews and songs. Snoop Dogg though unexpectedly came out of nowhere and vouched for Russell Westbrook who has been scapegoated by the franchise throughout the season for their losing record even though it was never all on him.

Russell Westbrook never got things right in the city of Los Angeles since he joined the Lakers. After LeBron James and Anthony Davis personally recruited him to form a Big 3. Unfortunately, that never worked and the Los Angeles Lakers failed to even make it to the play-in tournament and got wiped off from the postseason by Phoenix Suns. The Lakers have officially wrapped their season up and finished as the eleventh seed in the western conference with the record of 33 wins and 49 losses at .402. They even fired their Head Coach Frank Vogel as they blamed him for the terrible season. This move had divided the internet as many thought it was the front office, ownership, management, and LeGM’s (LeBron James) fault and not of Frank Vogel.

Snoop Dogg though has his mind very clear where he blamed Frank Vogel for the downfall of Russell Westbrook. Russell Westbrook has been the most trolled and criticized player so far in the season as he was never able to get in his zone and deliver for the team. As he never got his chemistry issues fixed with other stars on board, especially the veterans. Snoop Dogg though defending him got his fingers up and pointed towards the head coach Frank Vogel.

Snoop Dogg discussing Russell Westbrook in an interview quoted: “He’s a killer. He’ll find himself out of it. Remember, the coach wasn’t f**k with him. Coach used to sit him on the bench, take him out the game. That f**ks with your mentality too. When you’re this great, and you’ve got this coach telling you, ‘Sit down, hold on,’ then when you get in, you definitely reckless because you ain’t in a groove. Basketball is a groove thing. The coach and the player have to be on the same page to where you understand my minutes affect the way I play, and by you sitting me down, you affecting the way I play because now I can’t do the things I normally do. Now I’m out here rushing and trying to get people involved instead of just running the game. Russell ain’t never sit on the bench.”

Snoop Dogg was not wrong with his words and critical take on Frank Vogel for Russell Westbrook. As he really is not that guy who should warm a bench when games are near and wanting a player to close it all. He was never trusted with the ball and used as the third option. But now it’s all done and dusted. Russell Westbrook will probably part ways with the organization even though he has a player option for next year. The Lakers had him on the trade block for the whole season but weren’t able to find a perfect deal. So probably he’ll sign again and then they’ll together find a new home for Brodie also known as “Mr. Triple Double”.
