Many believed that LeBron James has had enough of Russell ‘WestBRICK’ after the end of 2021-22 season when the purple and gold army failed to make it into the playoffs. With a reunion with Kyrie Irving in the works, it comes to be known that Anthony Davis, LeBron James and Russell Westbrook have decided to run it back once again in the 2022-23 season. Will they be able to win more than 33 games?
While many believed that Anthony Davis got lucky with his injury woes being under looked only because the blame-game shifted to coach Frank Vogel. Surely all eyes will be on him when he returns on the court with Russell Westbrook and LeBron James in the 2022-23 season. Moreover, his consistency being a problem, he would be required to come back strong in order to not miss plethora of games once again.

Chris Haynes tweeted, “Los Angeles Lakers’ Big 3 of LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook huddled for a phone conversation to confirm their commitment to each other through the uncertainty, league sources told YahooSports.”

One has to understand that at the end of the day Russell Westbrook’s trade value is not high anymore. Given that the LA Lakers would want to acquire a strong championship-caliber player in his deal, teams do not seem to be as interested as they were a year ago. Moreover, with Kyrie Irving looking to stay committed with Brooklyn Nets, it will be important for Brodie to work his way on the floor to earn his reputation and prestige back.
Moreover, if Russell Westbrook is able to channelize his form to be able to produce the best supporting hand for LeBron James, even be it with 10+ points in a game, the Lakers can be expected to take charge of the Western Conference. There are no doubts that Westbrook is a committed player, deciding to still stay put in a franchise where he was humiliated by the home fans. He has already shown glimpses of his peak leadership skills on occasions in the 2021-22 season, but can he be consistent? Remains to be seen.
