LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers made their return to the regular season basketball on Thursday. It was their first game after the All-Star break and they registered a commanding lead over the defending champions Golden State Warriors. However, apart from the commanding lead and eventually the win against the Warriors, what stood out in the game was the conversation between Anthony Davis and James. What could be figured out from the conversation between the star, Davis was saying James that they had a 24 points lead against the Warriors.

While Davis was sitting on the bench, James exited the game. While going back to the bench, AD stopped his teammate and said, “I can’t remember the last time we were up 24 with this much time.” To which the four-time NBA champion replied, “Never, never”. It is completely understandable the emotions that are running through the teammates. All season they have been struggling not only with the shooting but also with multiple injuries and team chemistry.

What stood out in the game was the fact that as many as eight Lakers scored in double digits. Malik Beasley stood out from the Lakers and was outstanding from the field. He proved to be the perfect sniper that the Lakers had been looking for. He scored a total of 25 points and shot seven of 11 from beyond the arc. The Lakers took a commanding lead in the third quarter when they went for a 20-7 scoring run.

Reacting to the conversation between Davis and LeBron, Laker fans on Twitter got emotional. Sharing their feelings, one of the fans wrote, “If these guys get on a run and make 6th seed they might be as good as that 21’ team.” Another fan wrote, “It’s nice to see AD take 5shots & lbj have an off night & lakers still win.” Here are some reactions on Twitter.

LeBron himself had an off night in a big against the Warriors. He scored 13 points but shot only 25 percent from the field. The star duos played under 30 minutes in the game. Los Angles has won two consecutive games and are 28-32 in the season. Austin Reaves was perfect from the field. He made six of six shots from the field and made four of four shots from the free throw line. The Lakers defeated the Warriors 124-111, as they start their quest for the playoff spot.
