“Bring BG home”- Lakers’ LeBron James putting major pressure on Biden Administration to bring Brittney Griner home

LeBron James is now trying his best to get Brittney Griner out of Russia and back to her home in the States as he is using his platform to spread as much as awareness he can. So justice can be done to her and she can be back home. In February, Brittney Griner was detained at the Moscow airport as the Russian officials say they found vape cartridges containing hashish oil in her luggage. She now is facing drug smuggling charges which can get her a maximum of 10 years of imprisonment in Russia.

Her pre-trial was also postponed and now many believe she is a “political prisoner” held by Russia who will be used for some benefits or a good exchange with the United States of America. WNBA has made several efforts to spread awareness about their star player being wrongfully detained by Russia and now even NBA players and superstars like LeBron James and the whole Boston Celtics team are using their platform to support her and get her out of there as soon as possible.

LeBron James has always been an active participant during every movement he felt it was necessary to stand for. The King was a part of the fight against social justice, racial reforms, and police brutality and has always been promoting the Black Lives Matter movement knowing how important it is and how capable he is to use his platforms correctly. Recently, he made it to the NBA headlines as after standing with the Boston Celtics to showcase his support to bring back Brittney Griner who has been wrongfully detained in Russia for more than 100 days. He himself, tweeted out in support of her return and it wasn’t just a normal tweet as he used his very own athlete empowerment brand Uninterrupted for the purpose.

LeBron James first shared a video clip of Marcus Smart and the Celtics doing the most they can to stand with BG on his Instagram story. He even wrote “#WEAREBG”. That one share from him really drove in an unreal support as all of it made it to the general headlines and many eyes were caught. But this time LeBron James’ tweet is probably a direct message to the White House to take the matter seriously and get her back quickly and safely as enough is enough.

LeBron James in the tweet quoted: “We need to come together and help do whatever we possibly can to bring BG home quickly and safely!! ?? Our voice as athletes is stronger together. @uninterrupted? #WeAreBG.” He also added two images with the tweet. One of them had the “WEAREBG” text written on it and the other one had every single detail about the situation Brittney Griner is in.

With superstars like LeBron James coming out and calling this injustice out everyone can hope for the best. As LeBron James correctly said that we must come together and fight for her return. As she is not only a decorated professional sports player but also an innocent human being. As many believe she is a war prisoner and Russia is surely looking to benefit from her. So getting her out from there as soon as possible is very important.
