Lakers legends Magic Johnson’s emotional message after tragic shooting in Buffalo and Laguna Woods

The States have been shocked and stunned with unfortunate incidents in two different cities. To those who are not aware, there have two separate shooting incidents- one in Buffalo, New York and the other one in Laguna Woods. Upon which Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson has shared his honest take. While ten people died in Buffalo, there was one life claimed in the shooting incident in California.
Magic Johnson was quick to express his condolences with the victims. Having had such a reputed aura about himself, Johnson wanted to let all the victims know about his presence and stated that he still is in utter shock and disbelief after knowing the matter.
Magic Johnson shares heartfelt message
“I’m saddened & still shocked to hear of the shootings that occurred in Buffalo & Laguna Woods. There is no place for hate in this country, or world, period. It’s disheartening that we have to be on alert going to safe spaces like church or running an errand in the grocery store.”
Talking about the particular incident, first shooting took place at a supermarket in Buffalo Saturday afternoon. According to Philly Voice, an 18-year-old man opened fire with an AR-15 rifle at Tops Friendly Market in a predominantly Black neighbourhood.
Identified as Payton Gendron, specifically targeted Black people while wearing military gear and streaming the attack on Twitch. Ten people were killed and three others were wounded.
On the other hand, the second attack took place Sunday in Laguna Woods, just 46 miles south of Los Angeles. 68-year-old David Chou killed one man and wounded five others after opening fire in a Taiwanese church, per NBC News.
The news outlet also reports that Chou, from Las Vegas, was allegedly “motivated by political tensions between China and Taiwan.”
Magic Johnson was one of the many sports and NBA personnel to reveal their true feelings upon this unfortunate incident. With United States bleeding, prayers do go out to the victims and their family. Hopefully they can develop the strength to bounce back from this loss.
