A shocking incident that has scarred the Basketball community worldwide is the sudden cardiac arrest event that LeBron James’ son Bronny James suffered a few days ago. Bronny collapsed around 9:20 AM on Monday at the USC Basketball Facility in Los Angeles. Following the same, a 911 call was made at 9:26 AM and he was rushed immediately to the Cedar-Sinai Medical Center.

Although Bronny James has since been released from the ICU, the family must have been traumatized due to the incident which is why they kept away from the media and did not give any public appearances. However, just a few hours ago, LeBron James tweeted thanking each and everyone who prayed for Bronny and the family and talked about how grateful he is to have his fans by his family’s side when he needed them the most.

According to Dailymail.com, James and his family are keeping things as close to himself and his family as possible. According to a source, he is ‘scared and devastated’ with what has happened and they are trying to get the best care possible and don’t want to leave any room for messing up.

Bronny James earlier had committed to the Trojans for his collegiate basketball years but now cardiologists are hinting at his career likely ending with this Cardiac Arrest incident. According to Cardiologists, a large percentage of cardiac arrests in athletes are due to a condition called hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, which makes the heart beat abnormally regularly.

If this is found to be true, Bronny’s career could very well be over as this puts him at the risk of “sudden death” according to NY-based cardiologist Dr Christopher Tanayan. “Whether or not Bronny’s career can continue will depend on his family, the league, and ultimately his own appetite for risk,” Dr Tanayan told the DailyMail.com.

Another famous doctor, Dr. Stutter who has his own Youtube channel said in a video “There are some causes of cardiac arrest that you find the exact cause, and it still isn’t necessarily safe to return to sports because the risk is so high of having another cardiac arrest and potentially dying.” While all of this is circling around in the media, conversations around whether Bronny should or should not play should be left to the experts. As of now, we only wish for the Speedy recovery of Bronny and the safety of their family.
