Kyrie Irving and LeBron James, arguably the best duo the game has ever seen, played for some time together. The duo had some sweet moments, like the 2016 ring they won together for the Cleveland Cavaliers or when James said he was “gonna be the best Point-Guard and the MVP.” The 38-year-old has played for three teams over his exciting carrier – Miami Heat, Los Angeles Lakers, and the Cavaliers. He won a title for each team.

James rated his best friend in an Instagram story as the “Best ever player with the ball in his hands.” This was in response to a tweet that read, “This has nothing to do with his ‘all-time ranking,’ but this is the best player with the ball in his hands we [have] ever seen.” This left fans in awe as they witnessed yet another one of those “cute-couple moments.”

In 2016, James and Irving pulled the greatest, arguably, comeback in NBA finals history after they were 3-1 down against the Golden State Warriors. The two have been paired as an “unstoppable” duo since then. Many people since then have talked about how Irving brings out the best in James and that they can never be separated.

Alas, all good things end, and Irving and James could only play together for the Cavaliers for three seasons, from 2014-17. After that, Kyrie left for Boston Celtics and is now playing for Dallas Mavericks after spending some time with the Brooklyn Nets.

Is there a possibility of Kyrie Irving and LeBron James playing together again?

On a recent episode of the Hoop Collective Podcast, ESPN’s Brain Windshort talks about Kyrie and James playing together. “I will say this. I do think LeBron has an interest in playing with Kyrie Irving again. I think he likes the idea of playing with Kyrie, the concept of playing with Kyrie and Anthony Davis.” There have been innumerable rumors in the past season, and these little conversations that influential people have only fuel this up.

Reportedly, Irving had approached James to convince him to join the Mavericks. Of course, those convincing sessions failed. James and Irving sure will be looking to convince each other to join each others’ teams soon again if James chooses to play one more year.

We have James returning for yet another season with the Lakers, as he announced at the ESPYS. Irving, too, has signed a 3-year extension with Dallas for $126 Million. This does not point to good news for the duo’s fans. Whether they play together, those two will continue to shine brighter at their respective teams. While the fans hope for a reunion, it might be impossible considering the current dynamics.
