The Los Angeles Lakers have been struggling to start the season. They have a 3-3 record and the games they have won were razor close and the ones they lost were blowouts, especially against the Nuggets and now against the Magic. The Lakers defeated the Magic on Monday in a game that went down to the wire and the Magic destroyed them on their home court defeating LeBron James and the Lakers 120-101.
LeBron talked to the media after their blowout loss to the young Magic. He compared the Lakers to the Pittsburgh Steelers of the NFL who are not a good team on either side of the field but still have a winning record. He said:
We're like the Pittsburgh Steelers right now. The Pittsburgh Steelers right now have not out-gained or out-scored any of their opponents in this season right now and yet they've got a winning record.

LeBron also talked about the defensive struggles and missed fastbreak opportunities by the Lakers. He talked about the lack of rebounding and the struggles the Lakers face while trying to convert turnovers into points. James added:
We got to try to figure it out, because it's definitely been a trend. Offensive rebounds and points off turnovers."
LeBron James’ Lakers struggle with injuries to start the season
The Lakers were considered to have the best off-season in the league before the start of the season and were expected to start the season strong. They currently have a 3-3 record, which is not the worst but compared to their rivals in the Western Conference it’s certainly disappointing.

They have been riddled with injuries to start the season with their best on-ball defender Jarred Vanderbilt not being able to play to start the season.
In addition to Vando, Rui Hachimura and Taurean Prince also have missed key games. Due to this LeBron James has been playing increased minutes which might affect the Lakers’ chances if he contracts an injury this season.
