LeBron James declares his favorite Youngster in NBA … and it’s not Ja Morant or Jayson Tatum
Lebron James and Luka Doncic
Talent has been exploding all over the NBA this season like like landmines on a battlefield, and LeBron James is no stranger to these young guns. Record books had to be rewritten, as the influx of generational talent has taken the NBA by storm. Ja Morant slam dunked his name on The MIP trophy by such consistent yet jaw-dropping performances, while Jayson Tatum has his eyes set on the Conference Finals after drowning the best player, Giannis Antetokounmpo’s hopes of a consecutive championship. However, James is in admiration of the showdown heroics of none other than Luka Doncic.
There was a brutal invasion of Phoenix, Arizona by a behemoth known by the name Luka Doncic, and his army of Mavericks. The pillars of Phoenix, Chris Paul and Devin Booker could do nothing but watch as Luka engulfed the court with his fiery display, making the ‘sun’ set over their championship hopes. Dallas Mavericks lived up to their name, going berserk in the first half itself, entering haftime with a 30 point-lead which earned them a 123-90 knockout victory on Sunday night.
If anyone still doubts Luka, should probably watch some other sport as once again the Maverivck’s Superstar has proven his worth, cementing his position as one of the best youngsters in the league, with LeBron James giving him his blessing.

“I’m a Big Fan of Luka Doncic” – LeBron James
LeBron James is still the face of the NBA right now, but soon enough, the Lakers superstar will need to pass the torch to someone else. It appears as if LeBron would pick Doncic as his heir to the throne, as he admires Luka Doncic the way Michael Jordan admired Kobe Bryant.
“The way he plays the game reminds me of the way I play the game,” James said at the All-Star Weekend earlier this year. James has even infamously tried to convince Nike to launch a LeBron Brand built around Doncic as its first signature athlete. It’s fitting because Doncic is doing his best James impression right now. Doncic buried Game 7 against the Suns before halftime, making his first three shots including two 3-pointers, that helped Dallas push to a 27-17 advantage in the first quarter and a whopping 57-27 cushion at the halftime break.
Everyone expected the Phoenix Suns-Dallas Mavericks to be a boring, one-sided series, Mavericks took that personally as Doncic and Co. rallied it to Game 7 despite being 2-0 down , and topped it all off with an emphatic victory in Arizona. In 2007, a fourth-year LeBron James stunned a No. 1 seeded Detroit Pistons with Finals experience to get to the NBA Finals. Doncic’s feud with the 64-win Suns came one round earlier, but has an eerie similarity to when James slayed the Pistons. Albeit, he might have James athleticism, but well he closest thing to him than any other player.
Doncic has a long, long way to go before he can be compared to Jordan and James. Without a supporting ‘Robin’ to his Batman, he might not be able to carry Dallas all the way. If his career continues on the trajectory that it is right now, Luka Doncic is going to be one of the greatest players in NBA history and everyone including 4-time NBA champion, LeBron , knows that. Hold on to your hats, the Luka ‘Don’cic era is upon us !
