Patrick Beverley and Chris Paul

Patrick Beverley has been a regular name in the headlines since the Minnesota Timberwolves got eliminated and called a wrap for their post-season. As since then he has been appearing on various interviews and segments at ESPN and taking wild shots and takes on players like Rudy Gobert, James Harden, and more. His most recent victim is Chris Paul. As Patrick Beverley is not holding back against the Point God since the Phoenix Suns got eliminated against the Dallas Mavericks in a Game 7 blowout loss at Footprint Center. The western conference semi-finals series between the Phoenix Suns and Dallas Mavericks was one of the most interesting ones around. Everyone on both the ends expected a fierce battle in Game 7 which brings a do-or-die situation for both the teams. But that didn’t happen as the Luka Doncic led Dallas Mavericks took control over the game early and established a solid lead to win it all while Chris Paul and Devin Booker just stood speechless as they had a horrible night shooting the ball and even playmaking. The final box score stands at 123-90 favoring the Dallas Mavericks a 33 points blowout loss for the Phoenix Suns and now the curtains are down on them with Patrick Beverley disrespecting and throwing shade on Chris Paul.

Chris Paul in the game had +/- of -39 the worst of his career ever as in the 31 minutes he suited up in the game the Mavs got themselves a 39 points lead and he was limited to only 10 points, 4 assists, and 1 rebound and he also played some horrible defense. Patrick Beverley kept all these points in his view and targeting the Point God fired a wild shot at him on “Get Up” ESPN and ripped him apart.

Patrick Beverley sitting alongside Stephen A. Smith fired a shot at Chris Paul and quoted: “Ain’t nobody worried about Chris Paul when they play Phoenix Suns…I am letting you what NBA players think. I am letting you know he has finessed the game to a point he gets all the petty calls… he should have fouled out. He can’t guard. He literally can’t guard… No, he can’t. Man, CP can’t guard nobody, man. Everybody in the NBA knows that… What do we call him? Cone. You know when you do cones? Like, in the summertime, you gotta cone. You make a move. What does the cone do?” Co-host Mike Greenberg replying to it said “Stay still” to which Patrick Beverley yelled out loud “Exactly!”.

Stephen A. Smith though still wasn’t agreeing with this take but to shut him down Patrick Beverley said: “But Give him the Ben Simmons slander, give him the PG13 slander, give him the slander you give to everybody come on Steve.” The take is all over the internet and trolls for Chris Paul are out for his horrible performance and then being called a cone on national TV even though that’s all wrong as he has a defensive bag too. There are also fans waiting for him to reply to Patrick Beverley’s take so they can get some more of wild back and forth exchanges between the two players.
