It’s no hiding away for LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers team given their recent dreadful form. With a current record in the league of 17 losses and 19 wins, things haven’t been the best for the newly crowned In-Season Tournament winners. And as for LeBron, he has acknowledged his frustrations in a rather “gutted” manner.
After their defeat, LeBron James was quick yet truthful about his thoughts on their recent miserable form. “We just suck right now,” said LeBron in the post-match interview after a 113-127 loss against a similarly “out of from” Memphis Grizzlies side.

It’s not the best start to the 2024 season the Lakers hoped for after, especially their success in the In-Season tournament. When reminded, James said:
We took care of that business, that was the In-Season Tournament. We played. We won it. But that was literally just two games.
The Lakers’ struggle to find a consistency of a good form continues and fingers are being pointed in all directions. From bad coaching to heavy schedules, everything is happening exactly the opposite of what the Lakers fans expected at the start of the 2024 season. With 3 losses on the bounce this year already, pressure is mounting, and their talisman LeBron James, definitely knows about it.
As for their recent game against the Memphis Grizzlies, it was filled with excitement, jaw-dropping moments, and even some heated altercations that LeBron James was also a part of. The game ended 113-127 which saw the Memphis cruise past a toothless Lakers side, building their momentum for the rest of the season.
For the Lakers, it was once again a two-man show of LeBron-Davis, who combined for 64 points. But the game had its own level of intensity and looked set to boil over constantly. During the third quarter, the game took a dramatic turn when LeBron James stole the ball from Jaren Jackson Jr. While both players ended up on the floor grappling for possession, it was LeBron who initiated the tussle as he inadvertently struck Jackson in the face, starting the brawl between the two teams.
And it was for Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins, who took the matter personally and could not help but show his frustration. As a result of his intention to confront the ref, he was given a technical foul. Of course, the Grizzlies still managed to find a way to win.
LeBron James’s had an underwhelming 4th Quarter
The Los Angeles Lakers have faced quite a challenging start to the year. Losing four consecutive games has put them at 11th in the Western Conference. With a majority of the season still to come, LeBron James seems to be running out of gas already.

It was a half-to-forget for the 4-time NBA champion as his team failed to win for the fourth consecutive time. Though his overall performance was enough to give a tough fight, the Lakers fell comprehensively short of what would have been their first win of 2024.
As for his teammate, Anthony Davis, he has been an instrumental asset in this disarranged Laker’s team, whether it is in offense or defense. With an impressive average of 25.2 and 12.5 rebounds per game, his presence on the team has been felt hugely.
And while the rest may say otherwise, it’s no surprise both are being dragged along and have more than done their part thus far. It’s a “time will tell” station for the Lakers, who will hope that things improve in the near future.
