LeBron James has 154 million followers on Instagram and is one of the most followed personalities on social but that doesn’t stop him from posting arguably cringeworthy IG stories.

LeBron recently posted a story on his IG using a post from @lbjhistory with the caption, “I’m suppose to be #1 on everybody list … We’ll see what happens when I no longer exist.” quoting a verse of the Jay-Z song What More Can I Say, calling out the media and fans on their stance on the GOAT debate basically calling himself the Goat.

The post he used in his story featured a 6 slide post with 5 of them being a LeBron James highlight and the first slide quoting a Tweet, “What does being “him” even mean?“LeBron is notoriously known for calling himself the GOAT on multiple occasions and even going as far as crowning himself during games as a celebratory gesture. His action could be a result of media members ranking LeBron James inferior to Michael Jordan following his playoff loss to the Denver Nuggets who swept the Lakers 4-0 in the Western Conference Finals.

LeBron have accumulated a stacked resume in his long 20 years tenure in the NBA winning 4 championships, 4 MVPs, 15 All-NBA Team selection, and 17 All-Star selection. He have every right to call himself the Goat as his resume can rival that of anyone who had ever stepped foot on the hardwood floor.

LeBron might have every right to call himself the GOAT or quote as many JAY-Z songs as he wants to but this is not the way to go about in the eyes of the public who is ever critical of the King. Fans on Twitter are clowning LeBron for his post calling it cringe and unfitting for a player of his calibre to post as his rival Jordan had always remained reserved and humble about the GOAT debate. With LeBron’s retirement looming in the near future, the King can still claim the Greatest of All Time throne by winning another NBA title, as next season looms near if the Lakers can snatch a superstar a LeBron James title is still very much in the realms of possibility.
