LeBron James is starting to properly find a working roster situation with the Los Angeles Lakers. The team has gone on a five-game win streak which is largest one they have had in a while. But its incredibly upsetting that the Lakers are thriving without their Hall of Fame caliber All-Star forward.
Anthony Davis fell out of rotation close to half a month ago after injuring himself once again. What’s worse is, he will remain out indefinitely due to a stress injury in the foot. The forward was averaging 27.4 points and 12.1 rebounds while carrying the LeBron James-less Lakers to a winning record. Upon LeBron’s return, Davis succumbed to an injury himself.
However, to everyone’s surprise, the Lakers have not suffered as much over the last five games. For one, LeBron James has been averaging elite numbers and secondly, Thomas Bryant has taken charge over Davis’ spot in the team. Thomas himself missed the first 13 games of the season due to injuries.
Over the last five games, he has been averaging a solid 21.2 points per game alongside the King’s MVP numbers. Bryant helped assist his leader lead the Lakers to an impressive win against the Sacramento Kings. He put up 29 points and 14 rebounds paired up with LeBron’s 37 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists.

Now that LeBron James has found some success with Thomas Bryant taking charge, he seems to have a plan set up for with his partner returns to the court. “I’ve already had visions of what that frontcourt would look like with AD, myself and Thomas,” said James according to the Lakers Daily, insinuating that he plans on dividing the workload between the two.
He continued, “One of the most skilled bigs in this game. He catches everything. He finishes everything around the rim, but he also has a soft touch from the midrange and the 3-point line. And he just has a huge motor that’s always going on both sides of the floor.” If the Lakers focus on LeBron and Davis to take over the offensive end, they will be able to balance the defensive side with Bryant, Patrick Beverley and Russell Westbrook as backup.
