LeBron James praises rookie Austin Reaves for avenging him against Patrick Beverley

Reaves, who grew up idolizing Kobe Bryant, has been fortunate enough to team up with LeBron in his first two years in the league. Under James’ teaching, Reaves has developed his skills and has formed a great bond with the four-time MVP both on and off the court.
The Lakers have had a tough season so far, dealing with injuries to key players such as Anthony Davis and LeBron James himself. But the team has found success with their younger players stepping up, including Reaves who has shown promise as a reliable player off the bench.
In an interview with The Athletic’s Jovan Buha, LeBron joked that despite Reaves being a Kobe fan in his younger days, he forgives him for loving Kobe more than him. James went on to praise Reaves for his loyalty and support, stating that “That AR always got my back. Always. Even though he loved Kobe back in the day more than me. I forgive him.”
With the NBA playoffs looming, the Lakers will need all hands on deck to make a deep run. And with players like Reaves showing their dedication and loyalty to their teammates, the Lakers’ chances of winning it all are looking better and better. As for LeBron James, it’s clear that he has found a friend and ally in the young Austin Reaves.
