“LeWashed” – LeBron James ROASTED by NBA Twitter after horrendous outing against Grizzlies
The Los Angeles Lakers and the Memphis Grizzlies series couldn’t get more interesting. After a tough Game 4 win in Los Angeles, the Lakers traveled for Game 5 to Memphis hoping to end the series. However, Ja Morant and co. had other ideas. They started strong and took the game to the Lakers, who were flat all night and lost 116-99. LA had a rough night shooting and struggled defensively.
Desmond Bane and Ja Morant led the team with their dominant performance. Both players had 10 rebounds and scored 30+ points. It was a stellar performance from the Grizzlies as they cut the Lakers’ series lead to 3-2. The Grizzlies will head back to LA, hoping to win and force a Game 7 in Memphis, while LeBron James and the Lakers will rue a missed opportunity to close the series and get some extra days of rest before a potential Western Conference semifinal series.
Anthony Davis stepped up for the Lakers, putting up 31 points and grabbing 19 boards. He put up a gritty display but his teammates didn’t have the best night. James managed to score only 15 points and hauled in ten rebounds. It was one of his most inefficient performances in the playoffs in recent memory. After James’ heroics in Game 4, it was a tame effort from the four-time MVP in a series-clincher.
James was criticized on Twitter as fans wouldn’t let this loss slide. He and the Lakers have been pretty decent so far into the series as they entered the postseason through the Play-In tournament. Going into Game 6 at home, the Lakers will have close out the series, as a Game 7 in Memphis would be a huge problem.
Twitter roasts LeBron James after rough outing against the Grizzlies
LeBron James and the Lakers fought their way into the playoffs and have had a strong showing through four games. But their lackluster display in Game 5 did not go unpunished on social media. Twitteratis meanwhile have nothing but downvotes for the Lakers’ Game 5 performance:
James and the Lakers would have had at least a couple of extra days off before their semifinal series. However, this loss means they have to take care of business in LA or an ill-fated Game 7 awaits, before a trip away to the Golden State Warriors or the Sacramento Kings.
