“No, I’m good on that,” LeBron James shows complete DISINTEREST in taking over John Stockton’s previously set all-time assists record
LeBron James of LA Lakers overtook Steve Nash for the 4th position in the all-time assists leaderboard.
LeBron James and John Stockton
LeBron James is in his 20th season in the NBA and he’s on the verge of surpassing all greats and acquiring the title of the “GOAT” whether or not everyone agrees. Despite the fact that James is vying for Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s scoring record, he can still achieve a number of significant milestones along the route. James was rated seventh all-time in assists coming into this season. He overtook Magic Johnson, the man who initially scouted him for the Los Angeles Lakers, in a flash, putting him within striking distance of the top five.
Fortunately for James, reaching No. 5 practically ensured reaching No. 4. Previously ranked No. 5 Mark Jackson and No. 4 Steve Nash each had 10,334 and 10,335 assists, respectively. James overtook each of them on Tuesday while facing the Knicks and reaching his 10,336th assist. When asked about his intentions on whether or not he wanted to stay long enough to topple the assists leader John Stockton.
Speaking on the matter he said, “I’m not thinking about that at all. I’ve been playing like for 19 seasons and for 17 I’ve played 82 games or some crazy stat like that. No, I’m good on that. I’m good, but I’m happy to be linked with some of the greats for sure.” When it came to assisting teammates, John Stockton was incomparable. On his route to this unbeatable mark, the legendary Utah Jazz player put up tremendous numbers versus every team in the NBA.
His averages were absolutely insane, and it is improbable that anyone will ever reach them. LeBron and Stockton both had extraordinary longevity, but the King’s longevity won’t be able to surpass the point guard’s remarkable record.

How long does LeBron James intend to play in the NBA?
LeBron James is approaching his 40s, but his desire to play alongside his son Bronny keeps him motivated to play as he approaches Kareem Abdul-all-time Jabbar’s NBA scoring record, which he will break this month. Although he’s still excellent, there’s no way he can continue like this for much longer. Most people anticipate that he will play for a few more seasons before calling it a day.
Dennis Schroder, a teammate, claims that James intends to play another five to seven NBA seasons. In a recent interview, Schroder asserted that James wants to continue playing until he is 45. He said, “I asked him how much longer he wants to play and he said he wants to play for five to seven more years. He’s turning 38 now, he says 45.”
In order to play alongside Bronny, it’ll require him to continue playing until he is at least 40 years old. Bronny James will likely enter the NBA through the 2024 NBA Draft, however, there is still much to be determined about his chances.
