“Flush it down the toilet” LeBron James sounds off on 0-for-11 impactless performance by Russell Westbrook
Russell Westbrook and LeBron James
LeBron James is a real one when it comes to backing his teammates up. As he recently, cleared some dirt off Russell Westbrook’s name. Brodie has always been criticized since he joined the Los Angeles Lakers and the story was very similar after the Lakers fell short against the Los Angeles Clippers recently. But LeBron James came out for his defense and showed the world how great of a team leader he is.
The Clippers once again won the Battle of L.A and now they probably run the city. LeBron James tried his best to change the narrative and fall on the fortunate winning end but the reality is disappointing for everyone around the franchise. As suiting up for 37 minutes he had 20 points, 6 assists, 10 rebounds, 1 steal and 2 blocks but lost the game.
Anthony Davis backed LeBron James by dropping 25 points and getting 8 rebounds. But Russell Westbrook had a bad day and failed the team. As his contributions were limited to only 2 points, 4 assists and 3 rebounds. The final box score stands at 103-97 favoring the Los Angeles Clippers. And, like always it was Brodie who was blamed for it and the reason is his contribution.
Russell Westbrook lives up to the tag of “Westbrick” as he attempted 11 shots from the field and 6 from downtown but made none of those. These had everyone around furious as he’s the highest-paid player on the team. Even LeBron James wasn’t happy about it but he handled the media interview professionally and showed out his support for the struggling Russ.
In the post-game interview when LeBron James was asked about the advice, he’ll like to give to Russell Westbrook while being the leader of the team. He replying to it quoted: “Just flush it down the toilet and get ready for Sunday. He’s a veteran. We’ve all had bad shooting nights. I’ve had bad shooting nights. Everybody in this league has had bad shooting nights. Who cares?”
Further, James added: “I thought he played a great game. Defensively he was in tune. He was locked in. He pushed the tempo. He just didn’t make any shots, and that’s OK…” Bron also highlighted the defensive impact Brodie had in the game with multiple steals. His reply showed how committed he is to the team as he really wants to get the job done this year.
Can Russell Westbrook, LeBron James and Anthony Davis lead the Lakers to the NBA Finals?
The BIG 3 of the Lakers are very capable of carrying the team to the NBA Finals. But they aren’t able to find any rhythm and build some good chemistry with each other. The team right now looks dry and really needs some major improvements like guys who can shoot and play some good defense. Many around just hope that the Lakers don’t end up wasting another year of LeBron James.
Russell Westbrook is also committed to the team and just had a bad day. But the way the media represents him his future is really uncertain and he can soon be out. Fans are really forgetting how great Mr. Triple Double is and he still has got a lot of gas left in him to change the narrative around him.
