LeBron James appears to be both a mentor and friend to young guard Max Christie, not only on the basketball court but also off it. The LA Lakers superstar and sophomore guard Christie were spotted playing Blackjack, with LeBron offering guidance to Christie on how to succeed in the game.
It appears that Christie may not be a skilled Blackjack player and seemed quite perplexed during the game. In a video, four-time NBA champion James is seen instructing his teammate on how to play Blackjack and continues to offer guidance on the game and strategies for winning.
Max Christie was drafted by the Lakers in the second round of the 2022 draft. The Lakers signed him to a two-year contract, which included a requirement for him to play with the South Bay Lakers at certain intervals. Through five games of the Lakers preseason, head coach Darvin Ham has given Christie extended run to prove his worth in the rotation.
During the summer, head coach Darvin Ham, along with the front office and Christie’s teammates, have witnessed the guard’s capabilities. Now, the focus is on translating those skills to the NBA level.
