“Good Block,” LeBron James TROLLS Jayson Tatum via Instagram story for controversial missed foul call during game-winning play
LeBron James called out and trolled Jayson Tatum after being fouled by him and denied call for a potential game winning layup.
LeBron and Tatum
LeBron James has never been seen as frustrated as he was in the game between the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers. Well, wait! How can one forget Game 1 of the 2018 NBA Finals, when J.R. Smith made a horrendous! He was on full display against the Celtics. LeBron played like it was a postseason game against the Eastern Conference giant (oh man! He does hate the Celtics!) Perhaps part of the reason was Paul Pierce, sitting courtside. James was fouled by Jayson Tatum on a potential game-winning play but was denied the call. He started to jump in frustration like a child, begging the refs to call a foul.
It was Jayson Tatum, who had hit the four-time NBA champion on his way to make a layup, which the refs bluntly missed. The video shows, that the ref had his eye on the play, from less than 10ft away. After the game, the Laker star looked distraught and frustrated while talking to the reporters. What made the news the next day was the interaction between the stars on Instagram.
Alluding to the play on Saturday, James put a status on Instagram and wrote, “Good Block Jayson Tatum (tagged).” When JT, who follows the NBA champion on Instagram, saw the status, he gave his own reply, which was identical to his reply to the reporter. Tatum mentioning the story replied, “last night was blur…good game champ.” Both stars are high-level competitors and hold each other in high regard. Watching them poke fun at each other is a wholesome moment for fans.
LeBron James says he is denied calls in the paint and it has cost the Lakers some games
Since entering the league, most of James’ game has been based on the paint’s dominance. He is one of the fiercest rim attackers in the game. Despite that, he has been denied foul calls on numerous occasions. “I don’t get it,” James said. “I’m attacking the paint just as much as any of the other guys in this league that are shooting double-digit free throws per night. I don’t get it. I don’t understand,” he added. When asked if he would want the Lakers to talk to the league, he said that it is not going to make any difference. “It ain’t gonna change sh*t,” he remarked.
James also emphasized that, as opposed to other players who spend the majority of the game in the paint, he is frequently refused calls. “I don’t understand what we’re doing, and I watch basketball every single day,” said James. “I don’t see it happening to nobody else. It’s just weird,” he added. “You guys seen some of the games that we’ve lost this year…We had opportunities to literally win the game,” the 4 x league MVP said. “I had this second one in the last few weeks myself against,” he reminded. Laker players also had some harsh reactions to the horrible no-call by the referees.
