Lebron James and his mom

LeBron James has established himself as a solid athlete over his NBA career, but he struggled in the fourth grade, missing roughly half of his academic days. This was due to Gloria James, the mother of Lebron, who had served time in the county jail after being convicted of minor offenses like trespassing.

Undoubtedly, the Los Angeles Lakers and LeBron James are going through a rough patch right now. After poor performances by its best players to start the 2022–23 season, the Los Angeles Lakers had a 2–9 record. The Lakers got off to a bad start, dropping their first five contests just as it appeared they were turning things around. LeBron is out with an injury for the Lakers, who are currently 5-11 overall, while Anthony Davis is once more playing at MVP standards.

Now is the time that James’ many storylines are coming to light as the Lakers and he struggles. LeBron didn’t exactly have it easy in school, and the young man who would go on to become one of the greatest basketball players was nearly made homeless before moving in with his former football coach.

According to ClutchPoints, there was a point when he missed 82 of the 160 days of fourth grade because he was “too ashamed” to go to class when his mother, Gloria James, was serving a 14-day sentence for minor charges. James would have a perfect attendance record the next year, making up for missing half the year of school days.

LeBron James, LA Lakers’ current struggles

With LeBron James sidelined, the LA Lakers played their 16th game on Tuesday night, losing to the Phoenix Suns despite strong efforts from Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook. James is 1,076 points away from what is probably the NBA’s most hollowed record; but, he is averaging 24.9 points per game, which might allow him to at least tie Abdul-Jabbar for the record this season.

James, who is currently dealing with an injury that is holding him out of the competition, has had more injuries in his last four seasons—which, ironically, have all been spent with the Lakers. If he recovers fast and Anthony Davis withstands his amazing form, the Lakers can go all the way to reach the ultimate goal.
