Lou Williams is undoubtedly one of the best six men ever. He and Jamal Crawford are the only stars in the league’s history to receive the “Sixth Man Award” three times. Lou though has officially hanged the gloves after 17 great seasons. The Mighty Mouse has got himself a name and a well-respected career while coming off the bench for 17 seasons.
During his career, Lou Williams has suited up for 1,123 regular-season games with six different teams. And, he came off the bench for 1,001 games. His career averages are 13.9 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game. He was drafted as the 45th overall pick by the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2005 NBA Draft. The only player to score more points than him is Chris Paul from that class who’s a primary option and starter.
Now in retirement, he has received a wonderful gift. As Lou’s favorite artist of all time, Lil Wayne has dropped a video of him spitting bars in freestyle to honor his retirement. Lil Wayne gave a special shoutout to Lou for his 17 great seasons in the league. He also mentioned loving every single second of watching Williams go to work. Wayne also called Sweet Lou, “by far the hardest n***a in the world.”

Lou Williams on his music collaboration with Lil Wayne
The former Hawks player, just like every other hooper, enjoys rap music and he also is one of the biggest fans of Lil Wayne. Even the rapper is very interested in the basketball world. And, in 2021 they collaborated on Lou Williams’ single, “Big Tuh.” It also featured 2 Chainz.
Lou was very happy about getting a green signal from his manager from Lil Wayne’s side for the collaboration. After hearing that news, the 3×6 MOTY went on to quote: “That’s my favorite rapper like. As far as rapping I worship the ground this ni**a walk on while he raps. If I can hear my voice on the same track as his voice. I can stop rapping today. I’ll be one less hopping a** rapper.”
That collaboration was a success and Lou Williams was very happy about it coming to life. And, it’s another happy and proud moment for the all-time leading scorer coming off the bench. As he just got a freestyle honoring his basketball career by Lil Wayne.
