“There are no guarantees…Lonzo Ball plays at all this season,” Adrian Wojnarowski suggests Chicago Bulls making moves during the trade deadline this season
Lonzo Ball
Chicago Bulls guard Lonzo Ball is still sidelined due to a lingering knee injury and there is no guarantee that he would be in action at all in the 2022-23 season, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Even in the best-case scenario, Ball is not expected to play before the All-Star break, which comes in mid-February. He has not played basketball on the court since January 14 last season and still remains out with a mysterious knee problem.
When the 25-year-old suffered the same knee problem last season, initially Chicago Bulls team declared it as a simple knee bruise. A torn meniscus was discovered after several months testing, eventually making Lonzo Ball undergo surgery. He was projected to miss six to eight weeks. Though he was later ruled out for the rest of the season. Lonzo went under another surgery late in September since the point guard was unable to jump or run. Lately, the former Laker has been spotted in the team’s facility center working out and shooting free throws, however, he looks far from returning into the season.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski was in conversation with Malika Andrews and giving an update about Lonzo Ball’s recovery Wojnarowski said, “There are no guarantees, I’m told, that [Lonzo Ball] plays at all this season. He’s rehabbing that knee now; he still has some pain in it.” Wojnarowski also said that there is a hope that Lonzo might be ready to play after the All-Star break, however, the decision would depend on the Chicago Bulls’ standing in the Eastern Conference.
Lonzo Ball situation and a possible trade for Los Angles Lakers
There is a strong growing sentiment in the NBA that Lonzo Ball would not be able to play basketball in the same manner expected off him. Moreover, hardships could fundamentally increase for him, as the game reaches into the deeper stages. Adrian Wojnarowski also hinted at the possibility of trade moves; the Bulls’ reconstruction might be a thing to come in near future.
Los Angeles Lakers faithful has been long waiting for the trade rumor involving DeMar DeRozan and Nikola Vucevic from the Bulls and Westbrook with a 2027 first-round pick and a 2023 2nd-round pick, from the Lakers. The 17xNBA Champs have a bad roster right now and desperately need a three-point shot maker and a player who can create his own shot.
