The Los Angeles Clippers are gearing up for a transition to establish themselves as a premier franchise in the NBA. Their first step was to build a new stadium to move out of the shadows of their illustrious neighbors. They unveiled their second step yesterday by releasing the first images of their new logo and jersey designs. Basketball fans, however, trolled the Clippers’ latest attempt at a new identity.

The new jersey designs are more classic than building on the more modern designs used currently. Fans were not sure whether the new designs suggested progress.
Since billionaire Steve Ballmer bought the Los Angeles Clippers in 2014, he has focused solely on turning the franchise around. His bold moves to bring former Los Angeles Lakers legend Jerry West into the front office surprised everyone. His insistence on signing the best led to Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, Russell Westbrook, and more recently, James Harden joining Ty Lue in the team.
Ballmer’s efforts see the Clippers as one of the best teams this season. The new arena being built in Inglewood along with a redesign of the branding are steps. Now if they just manage to win their first championship, Balmer would have achieved what he set out to do.
