“Costliest Hug of his career” Mark Cuban almost got Jalen Brunson injured after distracting him in Game 7 vs Suns

Jalen Brunson and Mark Cuban

The sport of basketball and especially NBA is not for the week hearted. While not only courtside fans need to be aware of all the plays to protect themselves from tall and gigantic athletes, but sometimes the players too need to be careful even when they are on the side-lines. The latest to justify this claim was Mavericks owner Mark Cuban distracting marquee Jalen Brunson in the dying minutes of Game 7 vs Phoenix Suns.

The defending Western Conference Champions have been ruthlessly beaten by the Dallas Mavericks at their home, to an extent where they own fans decided to boo and walk out from the arena. Moreover, the home team were forced to pull out all of their stars from the game with decent minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, such was the difference.

So, what exactly did Mark Cuban do? Given that the Dallas Mavericks have been known to build around Luka Doncic and other supporting ‘less-known’ players. Cuban has always been a firm believer of the process and when he saw his team finally securing the result, he wanted to badly, he could not help but hug Brunson mid-game on the side-line.

Just when Suns’ Aaron Holiday came sliding on the floor, to strike Brunson right onto his knee. Take a look below at the video.

Talking about the individual performances of Game 7 between Suns vs Mavericks. It was the away team which went onto secure a 30-point halftime lead. While Luka Doncic scored a stellar 35-point tally, Jalen Brunson managed to score 24 points. Special mention has to go to Mark Cuban’s special acquisition, Spencer Dinwiddie who managed to score 30 points coming off the bench.

Devin Booker and Chris Paul

On the other hand, for the Phoenix Suns Cam Johnson scored team high 12 points. While Devin Booker scored 11. The main question remains, will this hefty loss lead to any major changes for Monty Williams’ team going into the next season? Remains to be seen.
