“Bro dressed like a side table lamp” – Russell Westbrook and Dwyane Wade FAIL to impress at Met Gala 2023 but Shai Gilgeous-Alexander steals thunder

The first round of the 2023 NBA Playoffs was a roller coaster. While most of the best teams made it to the second round, teams like Milwaukee Bucks and Memphis Grizzlies, who were first and second in the East and West, respectively, have been eliminated in the first round itself.
With the season coming to an end for most players, they are busy unwinding and indulging in their hobbies. The 2023 Met Gala in New York City had some of the famous personalities come in their best outfits. This year, the Met Gala invited a few NBA players as well. Apart from active players, NBA Hall of Famer, Dwyane Wade was also in attendance with his wife Gabriella Union.
Los Angeles Clippers point guard Russell Westbrook and Oklahoma City Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander were among those that attended Met Gala. Shai and the Thunder couldn’t make it past the Play-In tournament, as another season went by without a playoff appearance for the franchise. While he can’t showcase his basketball skills on the court during the playoffs, his fashion sense was on full display during the Met Gala.
While Shai’s outfit stole the thunder, Westbrook’s outfit split opinion.
Westbrook has a history of dressing up with some of his designer pre-game outfits. The former MVP even has an endorsement deal with the clothing line, True Religion. Russ designs his fit before games as well as other events.

Fans praise Shai’s look while Russell Westbrook goes unnoticed
Rating the best outfit, NBA fans found Shai’s look stylish. On the other hand, Westbrook’s outfit received criticism from fans, as some deemed that he looked like a table lamp. Though Russ’ outfits are not always appreciated by the fans, his Gala look seemed pretty unique indeed. Twitteratis didn’t let this look of his slide as they all went on to make fun of as well as appreciate his fit:
It was great to see NBA players showcase their unique take on fashion during the Met Gala. Apart from endorsements from sports brands, the players are seemingly inclined towards the fashion industry as their off-court hobby.
