WATCH: Heat fan kicked out after calling Russell Westbrook ‘boy’; fans react

Russell Westbrook is playing with a chip on his shoulder this year. The former league MVP and triple-double champion is trying to reverse the script of his career after a horrible run with the other team in Los Angeles. His competitiveness is the driving force behind the Los Angeles Clippers surge this season.

Fans sitting courtside try to take advantage of his drive to rile him up. Such an incident happened in the game against the Miami Heat held on the 4th of February this year. The fan’s comments, however, did not sit well with basketball fans. Security kicked out the fan.

Russell Westbrook was near his bench when he got into an altercation with a Heat fan. The middle-aged man shouted at Westbrook these words;

I paid for these seats, boy!

This triggered Westbrook’s teammates to stand up and support the perennial All-Star. Eventually, arena security came to the area and asked the fan to step outside. The initial part of their argument is unknown. But the footage reveals that the fan was trying to justify his comments to Westbrook. The Clippers staff had to calm Westbrook down.

It is not the first time that Russell Westbrook has got into such altercations with courtside fans. Westbrook does not back down from an argument, such is his competitiveness. The video shows this time it was no different. Westbrook keeps talking till the fan is asked to leave the arena.

Russell Westbrook playing with that chip on his shoulder has helped the Clippers recover from initial losses to being 1 game behind the Western Conference leaders. They have been on a roll since the coach Ty Lue adjusted the starting lineup. They won the game against the Heat despite this altercation.

Did this fan go too far in taunting Russell Westbrook?

The game happened a few days back. But the video of the altercation has just been released. Since the release, basketball fans hearing the altercation did not appreciate the words coming out of this fan’s mouth. The video has gone viral, prompting many to watch the whole situation unfold.
