Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan has made a record $10 million donation to Make-A-Wish America. He made the donation in honor of his 60th birthday, which was announced by the foundation on Wednesday. It was a record donation, as the 6x NBA champion made the biggest donation in 43-year history. The money is also intended to support and inspire others to make a donation to Make-A-Wish.
Speaking about the donation, Leslie Motter, president, and CEO of Make-A-Wish America said that Jordan’s donation is a testament to his impressive character and will to make children’s life better. “Michael using his birthday as a chance to make history for Make-A-Wish speaks to the quality of his character and his loyal dedication to making life better for children with critical illnesses,” she said. According to the organization, in 1989, Jordan “granted hundreds of wishes to children all over the world” inspiring others to do so.
Wishes are more than just a nice thing. And they are far more than gifts, or singular events in time. Wishes impact everyone involved—wish kids, volunteers, donors, sponsors, medical professionals, and communities. For wish kids, just the act of making their wish come true can give them the courage to comply with their medical treatments. Parents might finally feel like they can be optimistic. And still, others might realize all they have to offer the world through volunteer work or philanthropy.

Jordan also released his statement about the donation and said that he was honored and fortunate to bring smiles to kids’ faces. “For the past 34 years, it’s been an honor to partner with Make-A-Wish and help bring a smile and happiness to so many kids,” the Charlotte Hornets owner said in a statement.
Black Jesus has several high-paying endorsements with different brands like Nike, Hanes, Gatorade, and Upper Deck, among others, that pay him millions of dollars. He has always been a charitable person.
Jordan played 15 seasons in the NBA and perhaps the most legendary career in NBA history. He won 6 championships with the Bulls every single time he went to the finals. He retired in 2003 and played his last game with the Washington Wizards. Jordan owns 70 percent of the share in Charlotte Hornets.
