“The media killed my personal space” Michael Jordan reveals his biggest regret since turning pro

Michael Jordan was worth all the praise and recognition is brought to the game of basketball. Known as the greatest of all time, he inspired a majority of the current generation of players. His fans adore him and the NBA still holds a special place for him in their history books.

But it turns out the GOAT was not entirely a fan on the limelight. Fame can be frustrating for the ones who work with or live in it. The Chicago Bulls guard hated the fact that he had to “live for the people” and not for himself.
Michael Jordan reveals he wants to go AWOL

In his book, “Driven from within,” he highlighted a feeling he had since retirement with stated that he wanted to, “take his life back.” In his first every major television appearance on CBS, he explained what he meant by that sentence. He revealed how he did not like being swarmed by thr public when he was outside.
“For years, you know you find yourself doing things for them (public) trying to please them. When you’re out in the public, they come up, wanna meet, greet, say hello, sign autographs. But I want them to understand, this is my time. This is not your time, this is my time now.” Even today, fans always rush up to athletes or their favorite celebrities as it could be something that is unavoidable when you’re famous.
But Michael Jordan, it was a whole other level of fame. This man was like a god amongst men during his playing days and in fact is still looked at the same way. Him along with Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman made the greatest roster of all time. These three men were the biggest reason the Bulls were as dominant as they were.
Even today, Michael Jordan has not shown much affection towards the public. Earlier this year, he was filmed chasing away young fans as he walked upto his car in a parking lot. Sometimes people criticise him terribly over these things. But only celebrities know the struggle of constantly being visible to the public eye.
