Milwaukee Bucks star Serge Ibaka shatters Damian Lillard’s all-time NBA record

Whenever Serge Ibaka’s name comes to mind along with it comes the player’s Shot-blocking, timely perimeter shots, and a good locker room presence. The player led the Toronto Raptors to their maiden title by defeating the Golden State Warriors in 2019 only to leave the franchise that year and joined the Lakers on a 2 year contract.
After a successful stint with the Lakers Serge Ibaka joined the Milwaukee Bucks and most recently renewed his contract with the team for another year but that’s not why the NBA champion is making headlines much to everyone’s surprise the player has made headlines for a song that he released.
Serge Ibaka’s lesser-known life
This year Serge Ibaka released his maiden album titled “ART” consisting of 15 songs , most significant of which being “CHAMPION” has broken the record of being the most streamed track by an active NBA players, a record previously held by NBA star Damian Lillard. The song has now crossed over 35 million plays on the popular streaming app Spotify. Fans believe its time to move on from Damian Lillard’s track “DOLLA” as clearly there is a new hit in town.
At the time of writing, Ibaka’s record-breaking single, “Champion,” has received 35,166,416 plays, beating Lillard’s mark. Lillard began releasing music in 2015 and has had a few hits, but none as huge as “Money Ball,” which was released in 2019. However, “Money Ball” pales in contrast to Ibaka’s “Champion,” with only 12,434,465 streams (almost a third of Ibaka’s total). Dame Time? Over.
Serge Ibaka’s music, which features French singer Ninho, who, like the 6’10 big man, is of Congolese heritage, focuses on the journey to success and why it is so important for everyone to remember their beginnings. “Many individuals achieve success like me, but they forget where they came from.” “Art is a message for everyone, for children, to inspire others to give back,” Ibaka said in 2021 at Pan-African Music.
Many people are unaware that Serge Ibaka is much more than a professional player. Serge is a chef who goes by Mafuzzy Chef on his YouTube channel “How Hungry Are You?” He is noted for his daring dress style, is a socialist, has various skincare videos on his social media, and is now the NBA’s most successful musical artist. Clearly the man is jack of all trades.
Ibaka has had a long and successful NBA career and is poised to win his second title with the Milwaukee Bucks, but he makes it a point to empower everyone who has supported him along the way. Perhaps this is why he’s always been praised for being a good teammate. Meanwhile, Lillard, who struggled last season after suffering a season-ending abdominal ailment, will seek to rebound from yet another setback.
