“In sports, its all about updating your resume. KD hasn’t” NBA Analyst claims Stephen Curry deserves to be ranked higher than former championship teammate
Stephen Curry has his name leveled among the likings of some of the greatest players of all time. He was severely underestimated due to his weak ankles and tendencies of injuring himself a lot. To say he overcame those flaws is an understatement but to say he completely destroyed is quite apt.
He has played for the Golden State Warriors his whole career thus far. Him alongside Klay Thompson formed one of greatest back court duos of all time. The point guard won four-titles with the team with his most recent coming off last season. With that he solidified his name as the greatest shooter of all time as well. The Chef’s recipe is just starting to cook.
Stephen Curry gets overshadowed by Kevin Durant 2016-2019
We all know Kevin Durant is one of the greatest players of all time as well. Standing at his height, there are very few athletes who are as agile and capable as he is. He joined the Warriors in 2016 as a desperation move made by the franchise. The former MVP was eager to win his first title and felt Stephen Curry along with his team could do justice.
Unfortunately for Steph, this was the beginning of the period he was overshadowed by KD. Several people have criticised Curry for not possessing the capabilities to carry a team by himself and claim that the Slim Reaper handed him over two titles. Both players almost averaged similar points per game and had close shooting percentages. So, it does not make sense why people have put these two up for debate on who was better.

Shannon Sharpe praises Stephen Curry after carrying Warriors to fourth title
After averaging 31.2 points per game in the 2022 NBA Finals, Stephen Curry had all the leverage over KD in this situation. Of course, Durant had left GSW in 2019 to sign with the Brooklyn Nets. Shannon Sharpe defended the reigning Finals MVP saying, “At some point in time, we’re gonna have to stop falling in love with Kevin Durant’s intangibles.”
“Oh, he’s 7-foot tall. He has the wingspan of a terradactyl. He’s graded all three levels. He can shoot the three. He has a great midrange. He can finish, and if you foul him, he goes to the free-throw line. In pro sports is all about updating your resume. This is what I know about Steph Curry, he has the Bill Russell Award. … He did not get swept in the first round. So at what point in time do we hold Kevin Durant accountable for not advancing teams to the finals?”
