“Giannis is No. 1” NBA ANalyst details how ESPN got its latest ranking on point with Giannis Antetokounmpo’s supremacy
There is not much to be put into perspective when it comes to Giannis Antetokounmpo being ranked as the best player in the league. To a vast majority of individuals, this may come off as now surprise considering how impeccable his performances have been over the last three or four seasons.
Legendary sports commentator Zach Lowe reacted to ESPN’s latest NBA Rankings. He said, “Giannis is No. 1. It’s over, the debate is over. After that, depending on my mood, what I had for dinner, if I’m hung over, you can put anyone at No. 2. You can put LeBron at No. 2, I can’t argue with that. Kevin Durant is eight, you can put Kevin Durant.”
Giannis Antetokounmpo gets overshadowed by NBA golden boys
Last season was filled with unpredictability. The projected title contenders both fell off early from competing and fans were very disappointed. The defending champions in Milwaukee Bucks were battling all odds to earn a consecutive title. But injuries played a humongous role at the end.
Khris Middleton suffered an injury in the first round and was removed from play. Giannis Antetokounmpo was left with a decent set of role players but Middleton definitely brought an edge to the Bucks success. The Greek Freak averaged 31.7 points, 14.2 rebounds, and 6.8 assists per game in the playoffs and went all the way to the second round.
Unfortunately, this was not enough for the Bucks to pull through to extend their title reign. Either way, Giannis is in a very deserving sport needless to say. The other four ranked players were Nikola Jokic, Luka Doncic, Joel Embiid and Stephen Curry, all rightfully deserved. Giannis and Doncic are projected MVPs next season.
