“It was a funeral” NBA Analyst details how Phoenix Suns were disturbed and distressed on media day after Robert Sarver’s controversy
Robert Sarver, Chris Paul, DeAndre Ayton and Devin Booker
The Phoenix Suns are really paying the price for the wrongdoings and ill-mannerisms of Robert Sarver, their owner who is about to sell the team. As recently an independent and detailed investigation against him by the league itself revealed how bad of an owner he was. There were reports out against him since last year but he kept denying all those allegations and now it’s all done and dusted. As he got punished and peacefully kicked out of the league. With all of this happening around, Phoenix Suns didn’t just get fingers pointed at them but also ruined the final weeks of their offseason.
Recently, Phoenix Suns had their Media Day and it didn’t really go well for them. As Robert Sarver basically threw the whole franchise especially the players and coaches under the bus. As they were the ones who had to reply for him and do the cleaning work even though it was not at all related to them. But that’s exactly how the media works. Phoenix Suns though have handled the matter really well but when the organization had to face the media things didn’t go their way. As analyst, Brian Windhorst who was present during their media day compared it to a funeral.
Brian Windhorst detailing about his experience at Phoenix Suns’ media day on “The Hoop Collective” podcast, quoted: “I’ve been to 10-12 teams media days. I have never been to a media day this had the absolute absence of enthusiasm than was today here in Phoenix. I didn’t think it was going to be doing handsprings but I kind of thought there might be like, All right, Sarver’s in the past. Let’s focus on the future, but that was absolutely not the case.”
Further, Brian Windhorst added: “I could call it that it was like a funeral, but that implies that they’re sad that Robert server is gone. I don’t necessarily think that would be 100% classified. So, let me pivot to saying it felt like a dentist’s waiting room and the players going up to the podium looked like they were about to have teeth pulled.”
The vibe for the Phoenix Suns has really been killed and all the credits for it goes to Robert Sarver. As not even a single player wanted to discuss anything about him on the stage. But unfortunately, all of them had to and now they look ahead to win their respect back as the league will soon be back with action. And, let us not forget they were the best team in the past years and still have the potential to reclaim everything.

Can the Phoenix Suns win it all?
The Phoenix Suns can surely win it all but the road for them is going to be very tough. As the western conference is no more soft with players and superstars returning back healthy and locked in. But again they got Devin Booker, Chris Paul and DeAndre Ayton. The offseason didn’t go that great for them. But still, the pieces they have gathered in Phoenix are enough to destroy the league if they stay healthy and committed to the process. The team though still looks to improve and get their hands on some great veterans.
