“He should follow James Harden’s decision” NBA Analyst details why LeBron James should settle for lesser than $40 million next season

LeBron James without a doubt is in his last seasons with the NBA after which he becomes a piece of history. Over the years that has played, the King won himself several accolades including NBA titles, MVPs, scoring related awards, so on and so forth. But now, he is on pace to becoming the league’s all-time points leader.

Last season was a complete bust for the Los Angeles Lakers. Since the beginning of the off-season, they have made several moves revolving their roster and hired Darvin Ham as their new head coach. There is still tension among the players on whether the roster will remain the same or not but Ham made it clear he wants everybody to be all in.
Indiana Pacers propose a trade for Russell Westbrook

Russell Westbrook simply had a very upsetting season and did not quite fit in too well. He averaged a decade low 18.5 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 7.1 assists per game. Even if it seems reasonable enough, his presence was not effective. The player agreed to play another season but the rumors are still flowing.
Recently, the Indiana Pacers proposed a trade involving Buddy Hield and Myles Turner. The Lakers have been interested with Hield for a very long time dating back to when Russ was about the join the team. Obviously, a pairing like this would definitely help cut down on responsibilities for LeBron James as well.

Analyst Tim Bontemps is not too hopeful for Pacers-Lakers trade

Tim Bontemps reacted to the trade scenario saying that the Lakers would not necessarily be a contending team in the Western Conference but a 4th seed at best. LA turned down the trade due to a lack of tradeable assets. As per the analyst, this trade could slowly workout later during the season.
Bomtemps proposed the idea of LeBron James possibly opting in for a smaller contract. This would in turn increase cap space for the team to make necessarily adjustments without having to trade as many players. James Harden worked out a similar situation with the Philadelphia 76ers. He settled in for a smaller contract for two-years allowing the Sixers to be able to give out deals to good role players. It was a move to help them go in the right direction according to Harden.
