“Put Phil Jackson aside…get Kyrie Irving” NBA Analyst urges Jeanie Buss to focus on LeBron James’ requirements 

There have been reports of LeBron James ‘persuading’ the Los Angeles Lakers to acquire Kyrie Irving into the roster before the start of the 2022-23 season. With Uncle Drew have the desire to always represent the purple and gold army, ESPN analyst Keyshawn Johnson urges owner Jeanie Buss to focus on the demands of the King rather than listening to the Rambis and Phil Jackson. 

There is no doubt in acknowledging that LeBron James has a fine-basketball-acumen, yet not all of his decisions have been profitable. However, with LA Lakers being the only franchise to persuade the trade for Irving with full swing, Johnson believes that the magic of the 2016 NBA Champion-duo could once again work wonders for the most successful team in the history of the league. 

Can LeBron James influence the Kyrie Irving trade to Lakers? 

Johnson stated that the only voice she needed to heed was that of the best player on her team, LeBron James. He emphasized that, if James says he wants the 2012 Rookie of the Year, the franchise ought to get it done. 

“Getting Kyrie is an easy win for me,” Johnson said. “What Jeanie has to come to grips with is, the self-interest is only in LeBron James. Nobody else she should pay attention to. Everybody else, the Rambis, Phil Jackson, put them aside.” 

Keyshawn concluded, “I understand the relationship with Linda, I understand the relationship with Kurt Rambis, I understand all that, but put them aside because it’s your team and not their team. The guy on your team, who’s the best in the world, you might want to listen to in terms of going and getting Kyrie. If he says that’s what he wants, then do it. If you don’t do it, now you force him to say, ‘Do I want to still be a Laker now?'” 

After enduring one of the worst seasons of all-time, LeBron James, lakers are adamant in turning around the pages around for the franchise. There is no doubt that Irving could play a huge hand in doing so. Will we witness Brodie being swapped with Irving in the coming days? Remains to be seen.
