“You took care of Klay and Steph?” NBA Analysts believes Draymond Green is keeping a close eye on Warriors handing paychecks to his teammates
Draymond Green has been a vital motivational factor for the Golden State Warriors. For over a decade he has served the team’s requirements from him and also topped it off by winning a defensive player of the year award along the way. He had been extremely important to the team according to his teammates and has the proven them right quite often.
The Dubs obviously won their fourth title in six finals appearances over the last decade. It was a tough battle but Stephen Curry and his roster were able to it pull with ease. Green played the leader in their defensive schemes to help boost the offensive output. He put up 8 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game in the playoffs.

Draymond Green gets the green light for a extension
Recently, news surrounding the Warriors gang revealed the Draymond Green is expecting to sign an extension. The player has expressed his interests in signing a long term five year contract worth $164.2 million. It will be confirmed on August 3rd, 2022 whether the team is willing to meets his demands or over him a contract for four years worth $138 million.
Dray has been outspoken on his views involving the league or other matters. He has been pushing the Bay Area’s front office to give him what he wants or he would simply walk away. Golden State has lost two players in Otto Porter Jr. and Gary Payton II through free agency. This team is one of the highest paying organisations but over the recent antics of owner Joe Lacob, it seems like it might be getting harder to handle.
NBA Analyst Keith Smith says Draymond Green is playing a clever trick for a max deal
After all these years of contributing his talents, Draymond Green has all the rights to make his demands. NBA Analyst Keith Smith has another theory for us however. He said, “I think this is Draymond basically kind of saying, ‘Hey, I’m extension eligible… take care of me. Why not me? You took care of Steph, you took care of Klay when they were free agents.'”
Green has two years left on his contract exclusive of a player option. But if the franchise does not give him what he wants he could leave. It is true that Klay Thompson and Steph are well taken care of but Dray holds an important role on the team. He is one of the smartest players in the league and is their defensive specialist.
