“This duo doesn’t make sense” NBA Insider gets brutally honest on Patrick Beverley and Russell Westbrook’s bromance

Russell Westbrook and Patrick Beverley
Social media is rife with debate over the LA Lakers’ backcourt of Patrick Beverley and Russell Westbrook. ESPN’s Brian Windhorst addressed the matter and offered his thoughts on how well the two guards worked together. By dealing for Beverley, the Purple and Gold made a fairly contentious acquisition. Many people thought that Westbrook would transfer after the transaction because of their connection.

But do the Lakers really need Patrick Beverley? there are many who are sceptical that a Westbrook/Beverley reunion can succeed, despite the team’s best efforts to project optimism. The fact that Russ and Pat recently got along at the latter’s first media appearance with the Lakers suggests that they are prepared to put their nasty past together.
Patrick Beverley and Russell Westbrook’s rivalry

Very few players may have hated each other as much as Patrick Beverley and Russell Westbrook have hated each , time again the NBA world has seen the two throw salvos at each other, accusing each other of damaging their career and whatnot but it now appears that they have ended their hostility of years and have decided to work together for the team this season
When Patrick Beverley, the Clippers’ former heart, was moved to the Los Angeles Lakers, it shocked the NBA world. Beverley has not only spent years spewing trash on the Lakers, but especially on Russell Westbrook. The greatest issue on everyone’s minds is how Patrick Beverley and Russell Westbrook will coexist. Brian Windhorst shares his two cents on the issue.
“I just don’t believe that the Lakers think this is gonna work. They’re saying that and trying to make the best out of this because they know they don’t have any Russell Westbrook trade that makes sense for them right now. So they’re gonna try to make it work. Let’s be honest: we live in an NBA era where you have to have shooting.
When the Lakers won their title a couple of years ago, it was with shooting. All of LeBron’s great teams in his career had shooting. You have Russell Westbrook, one of the worst three-point shooters in the NBA, and Patrick Beverley who is coming off his worst three-point shooting season of his career. I guess I can’t rule anything out, but this duo doesn’t make any sense on a basketball level. I appreciate that they’re being nice to each other, so points for that.”
Patrick Beverley and Russell Westbrook training together

Recently the duo were pictured together at the Lakers training facility embracing each other. During the Lakers’ practise on Tuesday, they appeared to be inseparable. They were caught joking and talking to each other as if they had never had a disagreement. Los Angeles Lakers players appear to have accepted Pat Bev’s presence on the club, even the other point guard who will fight with him for the same position.
When asked about playing with Westbrook, this is what Beverley responded: “Super excited. I was asked this question two, three years ago, [about] someone I always wanted to play with and [Westbrook] was the first name. I have [known] Bron since I was a baby, a rookie in this league, so obviously I want to play with him. But a player with that competitive spirit, that fire, that will, that dog, that nastiness, that grit, to have a running mate like that, I have never had that.
“So I am super excited to see where it goes. I’m excited to have tough conversations with him. Obviously like any relationship or any marriage, things, we are going to have tough conversations. That is what comes with winning, but I am excited about those conversations, I am excited about the practices. I am just excited to be able to compete with someone like that.”
