“A bottom tier playoff team” NBA Insider makes a huge claim about Lakers in 2022-23 season
The Los Angeles Lakers have given themselves a tough season next season. This is not because of the competition in the Western Conference but simply because of how their roster has been function despite having some of the most reputable and experienced players. They finished 11 games out of playoff contention which is a massive gap for such a powerful team.
For starters, they experienced several injuries along the way and one specific player by the name of Anthony Davis dealt with the worst appearing only for 40 games. The other problem was based around team chemistry and lack of leadership. Russell Westbrook was the target of these problems after averaging a decade worst 18.5 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 7.1 assists under 30% shooting from three.

NBA Insider says Los Angeles Lakers will not win a title
Several experts have debated whether the Los Angeles Lakers will receive title contention honors next season given their recent acquisitions. Joan Buha, an Insider of the league admitted that the team will not win a title with their current roster. He believes (so do many others) that LA will mostly rest between the 9th and 6th seed.
“No, I don’t believe the Lakers, as currently constructed, can win a championship. I think they can certainly make the playoffs, but I expect them to be a bottom-tier playoff team if Westbrook is on the roster and playing (somewhere in the No. 6 to No. 9-seed range). If we compare their supporting cast to other top West teams, they fall significantly short.”
Los Angeles Lakers makes changes to play for the title
During the off-season, the Los Angeles Lakers hired Darvin Ham as their new head coach. Ham has expressed that he is more than confident he can turn the tables around, unless all players are one hundred percent committed to the team. He has viewed his plans on using the teams defensive capabilities while working around each player.
The Lakers have also acquired Juan Tuscano-Anderson and Thomas Bryant during free agency. Anderson is just coming off a championship season. But it all boils down to how healthy they will remain during the upcoming season and whether or not Ham can put each player in their place. Their biggest target is finding a role for Westbrook.
