LeBron James has become the highest-paid player in NBA history with his new contract extension with the Los Angeles Lakers according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. LeBron has agreed to an extension of 2 years for 97.1 million dollars, which could reach up to 111 million if the salary cap goes up significantly in the 23-24 season.
On Espn’s SportsCenter, Woj stated: “He looked at free agency next summer, did not see a scenario that interested him, to play the season out and take a look in the marketplace.”The popular reporter discussed how LeBron James and Anthony Davis have the option to opt-out of their contracts in the 24 -25 season. They will be the only two players in the lakers roster at that season, with a cap space of almost 20 million this summer and with the ability to add a max player in the 24-25 season.
Woj further goes on to say: “One another scenario is that in the 24-25 summer is that will be the year his(Lebron James) son Bronny James would first be eligible in the NBA draft and that is something to look forward to down in the road.” LeBron has stated his desire to play with his son over the years, and with Bronny just a few years away from being able to declare for the draft. It will be a treat to see what the future holds for the James’ family.

He discusses the potential of utilising their 27′ and 28′ first-round picks for Kyrie Irving deal with the Nets or a trade with Indiana for players like Buddy Hield and Myles Turner.
