“They’re exchanging love letters” NBA Insider roasts Stephen Curry for wanting to reunite with 2x Champ
Stephen Curry is currently the most important figure in the NBA at the moment considering how he pulled off one of the biggest “full circle” moments ever. Now a four time champion, the Chef has proven he is truly the best at the game and still has gas in the tank to win another title soon. He is one of the best point guards of all time, or arguably the best ever.
The reason why Curry apparently had to prove himself was because of his runs with the Golden State Warriors superteam. It featured none other that 2x Champion and former Finals MVP Kevin Durant. The veteran forward is still the best scorer in the league and played a big part of the Warrors 2017 and 2018 title victories.
There was a major debate on who was better, Curry or Durant. Both players averaged above 25 points per game with them alternatively switching their roles on offense. Some say KD was the only reason why the Warriors won those titles and that Steph did not possess the drive in him to lead a team to a title. He single handedly proved that notion wrong by averaging 31.2 points per game in the 2022 finals and winning series MVP as well.
NBA Insider trolls Stephen Curry after admitting he wants former teammate back
Stephen Curry recently made a very shocking and honest admission about wanting to join forces with his former MVP teammate. When he was asked about it, he replied with a “Hell yeah,” and continued, “I think he has had certain things happen in his life that hurt his ability to trust people around him, in a sense of making him feel safe at all times. So all of those things, I understand, having played with him and gotten to know him. I love that dude.”
NBA associate Ramona Shelburne compared this situation to the Shaq and Kobe duo. She said,“This reminds me a bit of Shaq and Kobe when they broke up and a couple years later, they all sent love letters through the media saying how great it was to play together. But to make that happen it would probably mean that they’re trading away one or two of their core players that helped them win a title last year.”
Obviously, those core players, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson have been an integral asset to the franchise’s success. KD on the other hand chose to exercise his four-year $198 million contract with the Brooklyn Nets. It could be true that he also plans on retiring with the Nets as well. Either way there is high chances of seeing and Warriors vs Nets finals next year if all plans workout for both parties.
