“You were NOT the bus driver” NBA Legend criticises Kevin Durant’s tenure with the Golden State Warriors
Kevin Durant, Charles Barkley and Shaquille O'Neal
Kevin Durant has not been having one of his best years, with an underwhelming run with the seasons, and not having his trade demands accepted and having to take it back. The star had to also deal with criticism and slander from Charles Barkley and now another NBA Legend.
Shaquille O’Neal recently on his podcast aptly titled, The Big Podcast talked about Charles Barkley’s comments on Kevin Durant and calling him Mr. Miserable and an abject failure, Shaq agreed with Barkley’s comments without hesitation backing up his co-host on Inside The NBA, “Yeah, if you go back and look at his career as the best player and being the leader and all that goes with that. See we were there, we saw it. OKC, up 3-1. One more game, and when you’re the guy, all the pressure goes on you.”

Shaquille O’Neal Says Kevin Durant Was Not The Bus Driver On Golden State
Shaq also seemed to agree with one of Charles Barkley’s earlier comments of Kevin Durant not being leading the Golden State but being a passenger cruising with the team to win the championships, a criticism of KD that has been haunting him ever since his decision to leave OKC for Golden State.
Shaq stated, “Talking about the bus driver, Chuck was absolutely right. He was not driving the bus in Golden State he was just sitting in the front. You win and we don’t respect it. Don’t get mad at us… We talking about, when you the guy, in championship moments, can you take it to the next level? We haven’t seen that yet…If you’re the guy and you ain’t get it done, that means you failed.”
With Shaq, Charles Barkley and many other analysts and legends criticising him and beating him down. Kevin Durant has a lot to prove now in his career though no one denies everything that he has accomplished up till now. With The Nets right now, KD is the unanimous leader though superstars Kyrie Irving and Ben Simmons share the spotlight. It is the best time for KD to prove that he can in fact “drive the bus” and lead teams to titles.
