Stephen Curry is slowly entering the oldest players of the league club. His age has never shown effect on his skill. Frankly, his performance has only heightened over the years almost as if he is reliving his prime once again. Averaging 30 points per game at the age of 34 or even playing fast paced basketball is sometimes impossible.

The Golden State Warriors had an incredible run last season winning their fourth title in six finals appearances. The three-point shooting king was a huge reasons to their victory averaging 31.2 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists in the finals. This consequently won him his first ever finals MVP award and solidified his status as one of the GOATs.

Longevity is very rare to see in the NBA. Players such as LeBron James are some of the few specimens who have managed to reach 20 years in the league and still average 30 points per game. The Truth behind his ability is that he spends at least a million of physical training and fitness alone.

Similarly, Stephen Curry has also realised that the amount work he puts in for himself will reflect positively on the court. The former unanimous MVP spends a lot of time maintaining his fitness in the gym or by playing various sports like golf during the off-season. The difference was seen last season when he took a lot more damage than he usually would. And being as good as he is, defensive schemes are usually made with him as the focus point.

John Salley, former Detroit Pistons player highlighted the importance of longevity in a very interesting way. He joined VladTv and said, “I’ve always said it if players were to treat their bodies like they treat NASCAR’s or formula one cars they would perform like a formula one car, I truly believe that.”

“I think Steph Curry showing him working out when usually everybody else is relaxing and he’s doing techniques working on his core because he realized that’s where it’ll start. The little things that we may not pay attention to.” Several legends lost their abilities due to the lack of attention they paid on self care and conditioning, for example, Shaquille O’Neal or even Charles Barkley.
